Its an amazing feeling when you see someone wearing something you've made,
In my work, I've seen people on the high street wearing handbags and jewellery I've made, and seen lots of vintage pieces I've sold on people and in photos etc
and have had something I've made appear on TV before
BUT...
OMG!
this is the utmost!
GOK WAN wearing the scrabble necklace I made with my 'ickle hands on my living room floor back in December, on TV!!!

This year was my first year at The Clothes Show, I've been wanting to go for a few years but its up in Birmingham and thats just effort to get there, but this year they held one in London, So I just HAD to go
its about £40 a ticket but I must of got the ticket price back in Pantene freebee shampoo alone!
First off we watched a 45 min Fashion Show (fashions from world capitals) on the largest catwalk in London ever, and presented by George and Larry Lamb!
Theres so many places to have your photo taken and nails painted and hair done etc
I booked up to have a talk with personal stylist Natalie Robinson (who has styled Beyonce and Sharon Stone among others) and we got free Martinis its so much fun and I'd recomend it to all you girlies!! real girlie day out!
My favourite was The Style Stage where lots of fashion professionals get up and make speaches or interviews its like reading Vogue but its happening live!!
I met Caryn Franklin and designer Gareth Pugh!!
and we wandered around the stalls, the Vintage ones being my favourites obviously!!
We also got approached by BBC3 to interview us on "weird habits" so watch out for us on zee telly!

John Lennon Tattoo.......

So I've finally done it!!!
got my tattoo done on my wrist of John Lennons autograph (from the Imagine era)
I've wanted it done since I was 18!
Its healing nicely now, looks a little sore in the photo but it was well worth it!

I've had this obsession with him for as long as I can remember, well since my mum sat me down to watch Help! aged 9 and I fell in love there and then (superintendent he's got a plan, he's got a plan superintendent)

Foale and Tuffin exhibition, Fashion & Textile museum London

This was my first time at the Fashion & Textile Museum, Founded by Zandra Rhodes, since it opened in 2003
The building itself is fab, bright orange and pink certainly stands out from the rest.

We went up to see the Foale and Tuffin exhibition, Marion Foale and Sally Tuffin were young designers in the early 60's and opened up shop in 1965, just off Carnaby Street.
There were so many gorgeous dresses and trouser suits out on display at the FTM, I felt like a kid in a sweet shop, or a dog in a butchers!

It was like stepping back in time with the walls covered in pictures of Foale & Tuffin Illustrations, photos of Twiggy and Pattie Boyd, among others, and 60's iconic pop drifting through the speakers! I was in Heaven for a short while.

Here's the infamous "Double D" Dress as modelled by Jenny Boyd in 1966
and the "Domino" Dress, (the print was designed by Zandra Rhodes)
I will definitely be popping in there again, I vote Biba next time!

These cute lasses where in Beyond Retro, one of my favourite shops I got a cute vintage 50's style americana cheer leaders jumper, its to die for so cute!

The best window display I've seen in ages!

This strip joint reminded me of the vintage/retro ones of the early 60's, if this was on the Reeperbahn Hamburg then you probably would of seen The Beatles piling in!!

Well Hello 2010!
My bad! I havent posted anything in nearly a month!
hope you had a great Chrimbo! I did! got to see all the family (I love spoiling my Fam at chrimbo!) and had drinkies and ate waaaaaayyyy too much choccie, but who cares!
I got a fab new camera a Nikon Coolpix p90,

clothes, dvds, cash, smellies, make-up, a Vivienne Westwood Orb necklace and other stuff (so obv my fam love spoiling me too!)

Re my last post O. M. G. Nowhere Boy is sooooo good! its done so well, better than anything like "The John Lennon Story" or "Backbeat" (although I do like Backbeat!)
Ive seen it twice already, Aaron Johnson who plays John is amazing, hes got Johns magic and accent spot on! (and looks beautiful with hes Buddy Holly glasses and teddy boy hair do!)

I cryed a little both times, if your a Lennon fan its a must see!!
really made my Xmas/NY!

now I'm looking forward to Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland coming out in March!

how good does it look??!!

John Lennon Nowhere Boy Film

I'm just so excited about this film its unreal!!!
I've been a Beatles fan (thanks to my mum) from birth!!! and a John Lennon fan since my mum showed me the film Help! when I was 8 years old, and I fell in love there and then!
Well this film is gonna be good I just know it, if anybody out there has read 'In my Life' by Johns school friend Pete Shotton (which by the way is my fav JL book) then this film looks just like an adaptation of that book
AMAZING!

Gok Wan in Bluewater

Went to see Gok Wan today at Bluewater, he was there signing hes new book, Work your Wardrobe,

I made him a GOK Scrabble necklace, which I might add, he LOVED, he bounced around like a kid at Christmas and put it on straight away, he also said hes wearing it to The Clothes Show tomorrow so it will be in all the press shots, YaY!

naughty naughty me I've neglected this blog for about a month or so!!
*slaps wrist*
as I've been in bed most of the day feeling grotty,
(luckily I have a job where I work from home in bed on my lappytopp if i'm ill)
so thought I'd blog a little then I couldnt stop so make sure your sitting comfortably! lol!
sooooo....
well the break to Devon was amazing really didnt want to come home, we were lucky to have really gorgeous weather that week
went to the most fab place called Bygones (http://www.bygones.co.uk/) which is a great nostalgic place to wonder round with a whole replica 19th century high street
set up inside with a sweet shop, toy store, ladies clothes shop, pub, bakeries etc! so adorable I felt as though I was in Oliver! the musical!
we also went to Becky falls were theres loads of waterfalls and an amazing "money tree", were you had to place a coin in, so the pixies would look after you in your travels!!(see photos)
the views are all so beautiful, living in Dartford and Chatham all my life I forgot places like this exsisted!

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest / Give Away Sneaky Peek

My absolute fav film & book of all time is One flew over the cuckoos nest

McMurphy: Is that crazy enough for ya'? Want me to take a shit on the floor?

You're no crazier than the average asshole out walkin' around on the streets and that's it.

Jack Nicholson is my favourite actor hes also fab in The Shining (another bloody good film!)
I also like Girl Interupted (Lisas my fav character)

which obv is very similar to One flew where they are both set on psychiatric wards!
(when I was younger I really wanted to work on one!)
if you have not seen One flew yet you really must its a great story, funny and the friendship between McMurphy and the Cheif is beautiful
I'm currently reading On the Road by Jack Kerouac, but my next read me thinks might be Tom Wolfes Electric Kool Aid Acid Test,
appantley they are making it into a film?!
and I must read the book before I see the film!

What do y'all think of my new dress?
secret is.. it cost me 50p from a bootfair, I just loved the fabric
the roses remind me of some kind of vintage wallpaper!
its from the 80's
It was a size 18 and down to my ankles, but I just had to have it
so I got out my trusty sewing machine and took it UP'N'IN!!!
plus you get a sneaky peek of my new wall, I'm decorating the bedroom, slowly but surely.

Day at the Zoo

I spent the day Monday at Howletts Zoo near Canterbury in Kent,
I bloody love going the zoo and if I could I would of smuggled one of
each of these out :
Gorilla
Lemur
Capybara
Elephant
Wild dog
and a Hog

The lemurs were,by far, one of my favourites, because you could walk around with them and they wouldsit next to you and nibble on a piece of cabbage!
So adorable! I very nearly popped on in my handbag, but one of the keepers had hes eye on me :)

Stones & The Bad Shepherds

Well well well,
The Counterfeit Stones were indeed, excellent they're sound is spot on! a good show for any Stones fan BUT, and it is a big BUT!..... they need a stylist (*she raises hand* Me! ME! me! please Sir! I'll do it!)
I'm sorry to say they looked awful, as if they were taking the piss!! with they're crappy wigs, so, if you do go, stand near the back or just squint!!
Heres us! we got snapped for some website?! I stole the pic!

on a much better note The Bad Shepherds were GREAT!! for those of you that don't know its Adrian Edmondson's (bottom /young ones) band, they play all folk intruments, Ade plays the 'thrash mandolin', but do covers of punk songs, their set consisted of Teenage Kicks, Going Underground, God Save the Queen, Up the Junction, even Kraftwerks The Model, such a giggle.

to say I'm sad that Robin Hood has finished on Saturday nights,
I despise Saturday night T.V, but that was worth watching
with the added bonus of Richard Armitage of course!! certainly his hottest role yet! with the leather and the long hair and the smirk and the....slap me I'm getting carried away!!
If you are a fan like moi and have not seen North & South then do yourself a favour and obtain a copy quick sharp

(I'm sitting here with sound of starling birds twittering outside coz I put one of those Bill Oddie (I call him Odd Billie) fat ball/ bird cake things hanging outside they are all fighting and now my dogs after it too, its got them mealworm thingys in it eeeuuurrkkk! I said to the other half that I put one in he's chicken fajita dinner....He didnt see the funny side, but I did!!) hehe

Conterfeit Stones

in Rochester Castle Gardens in less that a week!!EEK!
I've not seen them before but have heard they are good good good!!
I saw Blondie & The Stranglers in the Castle Gardens a few years back and that was ace, only I lost all the photos when my last P.C decided to DIE!! :(
as this month of July is the 40th anniversary of Brian Jones' death
